Grim Crew Announces Dead Future “How I Became a Zombie” contest

Central Florida – May 24th, 2009 – When you think Zombies, the average person asks; what happens when the undead rise to claim the earth? This time we ask the question though, how did they become a zombie? Better yet, how did you become a zombie?

Grim Crew’s Dead Future, “How I Became a Zombie” contest asks just this question. Participants are asked to write about how they theoretically became a zombie at the start of the Zombiocalypse.

Each contestant must write a paragraph explaining how they became a zombie. Three of the best will have their likeness drawn in the Dead Future. Grand Prize will receive their likeness and a free copy of the book when it comes this October.

The steps to enter are simple:

1)      Register for an account at: Http://www.projectfanboy.com

2)      Ensure all your contact info on your profile is accurate.

3)      Post your paragraph here: http://forums.projectfanboy.com/showthread.php?p=14409

The Contest runs from May 24th to June 7th 2009. All are welcome to enter; results will be posted June 10th. Only one entry per person will be accepted, multiple entries will disqualify them.

Grim Crew is an independent publisher in Central Florida. Currently they are focusing on releasing in house titles and collaborative efforts.

Website updates, Changes, Dead Futures, and Kill Matt!

First off, I got bored. Not in the, I have nothing better to do sense. More in the, I am tired of this look. I set off and changed the Grim Furry Tales site, yet again. I am striving to find that right style that truly shows you what Grim Furry Tales is all about. For now I am happier with how it looks, but it needs more love.
GFT: The Website

Stop by and check out the new Lore page, I updated with with tons of graphics from Jason Stephen’s GFT work.

I also changed the twitter updates to only post on a weekly digest. I didn’t want to spam my own blog like that. It clearly shows how little I have been posting. I’m not going to lie now and tell you that is going to change. I do wish it would though, but I spend most of my writing time working on scripts at the moment.

The Dead Future book is coming nicely, a few of the artists stay in regular contact with updates. I like that, I like to see how things are moving along. Some artists don’t seem to care for that, rather lock themselves away. To each his own I guess, as long as the work is done and on time. I plan to share some preview pages from the book soon. Just waiting on a few of these guys to start turning stuff in. I also want to make a post dedicated to those who have helped out so far, an Artist Pimp post if you will.

Lastly I am debating over a script I continue to write, trying to decide what to do with it. Do I just file it/burn it? Do I make a comic, mini-comic (con exclusive like), or perhaps a webcomic? So far majority says webcomic. The working title is Kill Matt! A zany over-the-top action piece with lots of violence and cleavage.

“Matt just wants to please everyone, but when his helping clones, or “Welcome Matts” get out of control, his friends decide to KILL MATT……all of them!” (Thanks to Seb from Project Fanboy for rewording this for me.)

Leave a comment with your vote, twitter it to me in reply, or post it in the PF forums. I crave your attention, I mean feedback.

Next post, Artist Pimping and Writer Subjugation.
